Mick Mulvaney, the White House budget director, told reporters that POTUS Trump will sign a specific spending bill to avoid a government shutdown when he receives it before the weekend.
During the briefing Mulvaney stated that legislation didn’t include funding for the wall but it did have $1.5 billion for border security.
He said that when POTUS Trump makes a budget request in late May for the 2018 fiscal year that begins in October, he will include a request for money to build the wall, which is a top priority for the President.

He also says the short-term spending bill that Trump would sign did not have everything Trump wanted but contained a significant increase for defense at the President’s requested.
“We got a President that knows how to work with both Democrats and Republicans, and he knows what he’s doing when it comes to running the country.”
