Ben Shapiro as well as comedian Adam Carolla appeared before the House Oversight Committee today during a year called “Challenges to Freedom of Speech on College Campuses.” which dives into the recent string of anti-speech protests that have erupted all over college campuses against conservatives and republicans.
Among many great statements and points, Shapiro argued, “Free speech is under assault because of a three step argument made by the advocates and justifiers of violence,” Shapiro said. He continued, “The first step is that they say the validity or invalidity of an argument can be judged solely by the ethnic, sexual, racial or cultural identity of the person making the argument.”
Adam Carolla then said, “Fifteen years later, I went out with Dennis Prager, conservative talk-show host, and attempted to do a show at Cal State Northridge,” Carolla said. “They pulled the plug on it. They gave us no good reason why we couldn’t speak there and we actually had to get attorneys involved to go back and speak at a later date,” he said.
Among much more remarks. We just hope that the points both men were making got across to those who were listening.
