Police in St. Louis say that three men are dead after a shooting in west St. Louis. The shooting occurred around 11:15am today at a Laclede work site off the 5900 block in Hamilton Heights in what appears to be a murder suicide.
The suspect seems to have just walked up to the workers and shot and killed one. The other employee came out and the suspect then shot and killed him as well. And almost immediately turned the gun and shot himself. There appears to be no signs of a struggle. A witness stated that the shooter continued firing at the victims even after they were on the ground.
One of the workers was in his 20s and the other was in his 50s. Police say the suspect was a man in his 30s or 40s.
Here’s an interview with a witness to the shooting. She even interacted with the employees earlier.
One of the shooting victims was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died as a result of his injuries.
“We are shocked and grieving today after two of our Laclede Gas employees were shot and killed this morning at one of our job sites. We are connecting with their loved ones now. And, we are working with police to understand more about this crisis. We are heartbroken, as you can imagine, and ask that you hold these employees, their families, their friends, Laclede Gas workers and our communities in your thoughts and prayers.”
