The president announced on Friday night that “if Democrats continue to hold this critical relief hostage I will act under my authority as president to get Americans the relief they need.”
Democrats had suggested that they would lower their ridiculous demands from 3.4 trillion to $2 trillion, but only if the other side of Congress would give them better conditions. Trump’s administration has watched Congress talk about a stimulus package break down after weeks of the Democrats stonewalling any negotiations. The administration believes that the economy needs to stabilize and show signs of some growth. Trump stated that the orders “will take care of pretty much this entire situation, as we know it.”
“This is not a perfect answer — we’ll be the first ones to say that,” White House aides added, “But it is all that we can do and all the president can do within the confines of his executive power, and we’re going to encourage him to do it.”
Some Americans have been without any source of income since March and are in desperate need of help during this time, and Trump’s administration did just that. Our president signed into effect immediately executive orders that will save our nation.

Perhaps most importantly, Trump signed into order to immediately begin paying supplemental federal unemployment benefits for millions of Americans. This order called upon $400 payments each week, instead of the $600 that people were receiving before. These payments will benefit millions of Americans in this crisis here and now, instead of waiting upon Congress to return from there “vacation” on September 7th.
Another order he signed that will immediately affect Americans, is an order to prevent people from being evicted from their homes. Trump’s first order would be a payroll tax holiday to Americans earning less than $100,000 a year that will put bigger paychecks into the working American’s pockets.
