New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo just can’t seem to get out of his own way in recent years, and it’s taken a large toll on his public persona.

The Empire State lawmaker not only facing criticism for his role in sending COVID-19 patients into the nursing home system where the disease ravaged the at-risk population.

And then there were the sexual harassment and abuse claims leveled at Cuomo over the course of the last several months.

All of this is leading to a great deal of uncertainty among New Yorkers, and it shows:

Nearly two-thirds of New York voters would rather Gov. Andrew Cuomo resign from office immediately or not run for a fourth term, according to a new Siena College poll released Thursday.

Almost a quarter (23 percent) of registered voters surveyed said the embattled Democratic governor should step down now, while a further 39 percent said Cuomo can finish his current term but should run for re-election in 2022.

However, if Cuomo did seek a fourth term, more than half (56 percent) of voters said they would prefer to elect “someone else.”

Cuomo has been seemingly oblivious to his own plight, and has created a number of spectacular blunders for himself as these scandals developed.

In one such incident, Cuomo went so far as to draw the ire of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who then seemed to suggest that Cuomo should resign the governorship.
