Biden Brags About The Price Of A Hotdog While Gas Has Nearly Doubled

Over the weekend, Americans from coast to coast will be celebrating Independence Day, in a spectacle with far more frivolity in 2021 than in 2020, while we were still largely dealing with a pesky pandemic.

This means that hot dogs and hamburgers will be flying off the shelves, while inexperienced, budding grill-masters concern themselves with the ever-present question of how much lighter fluid is too much lighter fluid?

The Biden administration has attempted to take a victory lap this year, touting their belief that the White House’s economic plan is responsible for lower prices on several cookout-related items.

The revelry was short-lived, however, as social media users saw some sad irony in the message.

“The cost of a 4th of July cookout in 2021 is down $0.16 from last year,” the tweet read, citing the Farm Bureau. The accompanying slideshow illustrates the dip in prices for some of the essential food for most cookouts.

Then came the criticism.

Rep Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., responded to the tweet by questioning if anyone in the Biden administration has been to a gas station recently.

“The average price for a gallon of gas is $3.15,” she posted. “This is the HIGHEST price for a gallon of gas since 2014 and a 42% INCREASE from last year.”

Dan Price, the Gravity Payments CEO, also responded to the tweet, “16 cents? Home prices are going up 24% annually right now. The median home goes up 16 cents every 1.3 seconds right now.”

There has been a real fear that the Biden administration’s policies could lead to serious inflationary risks in the coming months, with gas prices being just one indicator of this possibility.
