President Donald Trump has joined the millions of people speaking out about the murder of Ahmaud Arbery and how it should never have happened. After viewing the video showing the young man being shot, he said it was “very disturbing” and “a sad thing.”
Trump said, “I looked a picture of that young man, he was in a tuxedo. I would say that that looks like a really good young guy, and it’s a very disturbing situation to me. And I just, my heart goes out to the parents, and the family, and the friends.”
The video itself shows how the situation could not be considered anything other than unjustified and unlawful murder. It is truly a heartbreaking thing for the Arbery family.
Breitbart reports:
Arbery was confronted by Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis, 34. Travis reportedly shot Arbery twice with a shotgun. The pair told police that they thought Arbery was a burglary suspect. When they confronted him, the McMichael’s claim Arbery “violently attacked” the younger of the two.
The case has caught the interest of the nation after a graphic video of the incident made its way online.
The two men responsible, Gregory McMichael and his son Travis McMichael have since been arrested on charges of murder and aggravated assault.
“It’s a heartbreaking thing. Very rough stuff,” Trump said about the murder and arrest, “Justice getting done is the thing that solves that problem. I’m sure they’re going to come up with exactly what happened, it’s a sad thing.”
President Trump sounds quite confident that Georgia governor Brian Kemp and Lee Merritt will ensure justice is served.
