Ivanka Trump received a lot of criticism for a recent tweet in which she said she was “deeply thankful for our President and my father this holiday season!”

Many people claim that the United States has the highest number of coronavirus cases and deaths compared to other countries in the world and accuse the president of being “incompetent” when it came to handling the pandemic.

One person’s comments on the tweet said, “While others are missing their Dad’s this holiday season because of your Father’s incompetence in a pandemic. Yes you should be grateful he’s alive and he was one of the very fortunate to get excellent health care. Just keep rubbing people’s noses in it we won’t forget.”

“Then tell him to let the country move on,” another person added. “How about showing some class and dignity for once. He should call Joe Biden, concede the truth – that Biden won, and tell Biden he will support the transition now that his legal efforts to overturn the election have failed.”

However, some Trump supporters showed up to defend their outgoing president.

One Twitter user called him a “great Dad. Great President!”

While another said, “You are blessed!!! Unfortunately a lot of Americans didn’t get to grow up with a strong role model! So they don’t understand your father’s messages sometimes. But I get them and I’m grateful for him as well. He’s not my father by blood!! By he is the father of Americans!!”

These comments came shortly after Ivanka Trump’s former best friend, Lysandra Ohstrom, made hurtful remarks about the First Daughter’s “radar for status, money, and power.”

Ohrstrom gave accounts of her time as Ivanka’s friend while they attended Chapin, an all-girls school in New York. She told Vanity Fair that their bond was “inseparable.”

She said of her former friend, “She had the Trump radar for status, money, and power, and her dad’s instinct to throw others under the bus to save herself.” Ohrstrom claims that Ivanka would blame others for her bad behavior and lead others to misbehave back in their school days.

“One of the earliest memories I have of Ivanka from before we were friends is when she blames a fart on a classmate,” wrote Ohrstrom. “Sometime later, she goaded me and a few other girls into flashing our breasts out the window of our classroom in what has since been labeled the ‘flashing the hot dog man’ incident in Chapin lore.”

“Ivanka had basically been the ringleader, but she pleaded her innocence to the headmistress and got off scot-free,” she added. “The rest of us were suspended.”
