Turns out, Joey Chestnut isn’t a one-trick pony. While hotdogs may be the food of choice for the champion competitive eater he broke a huge record last weekend by practically inhaling 17 full pounds of shrimp cocktail in just eight minutes.
Chestnut accomplished the nauseating feat during the eighth annual World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship in Indianapolis — and the whole glorious disgusting event was captured on video.
Hundreds came out to watch Chestnut do what he does best — EAT!!

After a countdown, Chestnut — who holds 40-plus eating contest world records — grabbed a handful of shrimp and chomped down so quickly, the announcer said he had put away pounds of the dish in a matter of seconds.
Chestnut eventually destroyed the competition … eating 17 pounds and 1.6 ounces of the seafood. And, according to the official event results, he beat second place by almost three full pounds!!
What’s truly unbelievable is this wasn’t even the most shrimp Chestnut has eaten before — in 2018, he devoured 18 pounds and 9.6 ounces of the shrimp.
