Authorities are looking for a Florida man on the run after he was seen on Walmart’s security footage pointing a gun at another man and threatening to kill him.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the incident started during an argument on whether or not a mask should be worn in public during the pandemic in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.

On Tuesday the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office asked public for their help in identifying the man seen on surveillance cameras at Walmart in Royal Palm Beach. The suspect, who is not wearing a mask, was seen pushing another man in a wheelchair in the store. They were approached by another man wearing a black mask and holding a young girl’s hand.

Words appear to have been exchanged before the maskless man made a rude hand gesture to the man with a child. The suspect then pulled out a handgun from his waistband, pointed the weapon toward the other man, and threatened to kill him, according to the sheriff’s office.

The young girl tried to pull the man away from the gun-wielding suspect when a fourth man stepped in to intervene. The suspect then fled the scene in a white Chevy Equinox.

The sheriff’s office later tweeted a picture captured by the surveillance cameras along with the comment, “You think you’re big and bad because you pull out a gun?”

It is not immediately clear what charges will be brought against this man if he is caught and arrested.

This incident happened just before it was reported that Florida shattered the national record for largest single-day increase in positive coronavirus cases on Sunday.
