James Comey stated, in regards to the Hillary Clinton email scandal, that Human Abedin, Clinton’s right hand for many years, has been giving “hundreds of thousands” of government emails while Clinton was Secretary of State, many of which were actually classified, to ol’ Anthon Weiner. Weiner is now a disgraced former Democrat congressman from New York. he resigned after texting racy photos of himself to underage girls.
“Somehow, her emails were being forwarded to Anthony Weiner, including classified information,” Comey announced at the hearing. “She forwarded hundreds of thousands of emails, some of which contained classified information,” he revealed.
For his part, Weiner at the time was under his own investigation for his inappropriate sexual contact with minors, but I digress.
“His then-spouse Huma Abedin appears to have a regular practice of forwarding emails to him,” Comey said. “My understanding was his role was to print them out as a matter of convenience.”
Senator Cruz reminded Comey that he was an “accomplished lawyer” (message: he should know better) and that “every first-year law student” knows that ignorance of the law is no excuse to break the law, which Cruz cited:
“The governing statute is 18 USC 793 F and 18 USC 798 A, have no requirement of a knowledge of unlawful — 798 provides, ‘Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person classified information shall be fined under this title or in prison not more than 10 years or both.’”
Ted Cruz also destroyed that argument, reminding Comey that anyone who deals with classified information would know, including Huma Abedin, is aware of how the information can and cannot be handled.
