Ol’ Hammerin’ Hank threw the first pitch For the Atlanta Braves first game at the new SunTrust Park on Friday. And it was perfect. Fittingly, he also threw the last pitch at the former park, Turner Field. The baseball legend is currently serving as Vice President of the Atlanta Braves. He played for 21 seasons for the Milwaukee / Atlanta Braves (in the National League) and for 2 seasons solely for the Milwaukee Brewers in the American League.

Hank Aaron was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. Since his retirement, Aaron has held front office roles with the Atlanta Braves. Oh and he Broke Babe Ruth’s record, as if you needed to know how great this legendary player was!
