Back in March, 68-year old Gary Lenius of Arizona died tragically after ingesting fish tank cleaner in hopes that it would stave off the coronavirus. His wife, Wanda, also took some of the deadly combination of hydroxychloroquine and soda but only ended up spending some time in the intensive care unit.
Wanda told police they each ingested 1 teaspoon of the cleaner, which is four times the lethal dose.

The store was instantly propelled into the media spotlight because President Trump at the time was pushing hydroxychloroquine as an effective drug to fight against COVID-19. However, when combined with the deadly fish tank cleaner it becomes toxic and deadly.

The story was quickly condemned on social media because it conflated the otherwise safe drug being touted by Trump with a toxic fish tank cleaner.

Well, it turns out Trump was just the scapegoat Wanda needed.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Gary’s death is now being investigated by the Mesa City Police Department as a homicide, and his widowed wife is the number one suspect.

Detective Teresa Van Galder told the Free Beacon, “As this is an active investigation, I cannot go into any details at this time regarding the case.”

While Gary’s death was tragic it was still twisted by the media to assail Trump but Gary’s friends knew something was not right. They describe Gary as an intelligent man who would not willingly ingest dangerous cleaner.

One of his close friends said, “What bothers me about this is that Gary was a very intelligent man, a retired [mechanical] engineer who designed systems for John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, and I really can’t see the scenario where Gary would say, ‘Yes, please, I would love to drink some of that Koi fish tank cleaner.'”

He added, “It just doesn’t make any sense.”

According to his friends, Gary’s wife had a habit of belittling her husband in public. She has even been charged with domestic abuse for hitting Gary, however, he testified that he had not been injured nor did he fear for his life.

Another friend of Gary’s said, “Gary loved Wanda. He trusted her to do the right thing for him, I doubted that he second-guessed when she gave him the chloroquine.”
