What transpired on Capitol Hill on Wednesday will not soon be forgotten. It will be looked back on as a blemish in American history, a disgrace, an embarrassment, and a tragedy. It was a monumental event the likes of which our grandchildren may never see in their lifetime.
Thankfully it is rare to witness such a violation of our capitol since the last time something like this happened was when the British stormed the Capitol in 1812. But the British were our enemy. This time it was us, our neighbors, our family, our coworkers.
Parties from both sides of the aisle played a part in this and we should all be ashamed.
However, many are putting the blame solely on President Trump and some lawmakers, like Representative Adam Kinzinger, are calling for extreme consequences.
It’s with a heavy heart I am calling for the sake of our Democracy that the 25th Amendment be invoked. My statement: pic.twitter.com/yVyQrYcjuD

Republican Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger is calling on President Donald Trump’s Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office.
Kinzinger made the remarks Thursday in a video posted to Twitter, responding to the violent mob that stormed Congress on Wednesday in an attempt to stop the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s win over Trump.
Kinzinger says, “the president is unfit. And the president is unwell.”
The Representative from Illinois further suggested that the President should be removed “voluntarily or involuntarily”.
