After Wednesday’s catastrophe social media mogul Mark Zuckerberg has silenced President Trump’s account for an undetermined amount of time at least until President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20.
Zuckerberg announced that he is extending the president’s Facebook and Instagram ban for at least two ore weeks until inaugurations day saying that allowing Trump to run free posting whatever thought pops into his head is just too risky.
The young philanthropist explained his decision in a lengthy Facebook post.
“The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly demonstrate that President Donald Trump intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power to his elected successor, Joe Biden.
His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world. We removed these statements yesterday because we judged the their effect — and likely their intent — would be to provoke further violence.”
“We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our services during this period are simply too great. Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.”
Trump was also suspended from Twitter and had several tweets deleted after the chaos that wrecked the Capitol on Wednesday.
Just after protester pushed past the barricades and stormed the Capitol building President Trump made this post.
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”
“These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!”
