Once upon a time, Senator Elizabeth Warran was competing against Joe Biden for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. Since Biden somehow got the gig Warren has decided to join his administration if he were to win the election.

According to several Democratic officials in the senator’s inner circle, Warren has reportedly expressed an interest in the Treasury Secretary position in a potential Biden administration.

Depending on how next week’s election plays out, Warren may make her case for the position.

Currently, the role of the Treasury Secretary is filled by Steven Mnuchin. His job is to promote policies and conditions that work to build the United States economy and create jobs as well as protecting the rectitude of the financial system.

Recently the economy has been combating a recession due to the coronavirus that began to affect the United States in February. The side effects of the virus triggered the loss of 22 million jobs; currently, about half of those jobs have been recovered.

Critics theorize that if Warren were to become a top contender for the position, it would cause some major backlash on Wall Street.

Warren is a progressive and during her time on the campaign trail, she acted as an advocate for consumers fighting against corporate greed. She also unveiled droves of proposals that targeted some of the country’s largest companies including Google and Amazon.

She proposed a wealth tax that would break up concentrated fortunes in a policy that would hike taxes on wealthy Americans.

The senator also took the lead in the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, founded in 2011.
