Recently at a school in Florida, a newly hired teacher sent out a letter to parents and students that rubbed them the wrong way.
Chloe Bressack is a new math and science teacher at the school and she wanted to start off the year by letting the parents know a little about herself, so she sent out a letter. But the letter is very alarming and left parents very upset.
The letter demands that the students refer to their teacher as “Mx.,” pronounced ‘Mix’. Also, she let them know that she uses gender-neutral terms. So instead of ‘he, she, his, hers,’ the students must say ‘they, them, their.’
Here’s what the letter said in its entirety:
I am very excited to work with you this year! I know that we have a bit of a jumbled start, but I’m sure that we’ll settle down quickly and finish the year before we know it. Before I joined the family here at Canopy Oaks, I served as a digital education special area teacher for grades K-5 at Florida State University Schools (Florida High). I am from the Pensacola area, but I went to school at FSU and have lived in Tallahassee ever since!
We have a lot of fun activities planned this year, and I am so excited that I have joined the team here at Canopy oaks! I can’t wait to get to know all of you!
Your teacher,
Mx. Bressack
Naturally, parents were angered by this letter. No one, not even public school teachers, should force a child to buy into the fantasy world of gender changing.
This is just one more reason why we should pull our children from public schools and put them into private schools.
