In the deep south tonight, there are fears that someone wicked is still on the prowl.
The concern comes after a homicide in Atlanta, Georgia’s midtown district began making the rounds in both the local and national news scenes, in which a woman and her dog were both brutally murdered. The tragedy occurred in the dead of night in the city’s most prominent and popular public park.
Reporters are now receiving wild new information about the case from law enforcement, and it has some in the city wondering just what sort of threat they’re dealing with.
Katie Janness and her dog were stabbed to death early Wednesday morning in what police described as a “gruesome” scene.
Her wife said Janness went to walk Bowie after dinner and never returned.
It’s unclear how the FBI is assisting in the case, Atlanta Police are still trying to determine what happened.
Here is where it gets alarming:
Channel 2′s Michael Seiden learned there was a marking on the Janness’ body when she was found.
Investigators said this is a very unusual and unique case that Atlanta has never experienced before.
Police are taking the case slowly, and not releasing much information regarding the more bizarre aspects of the incident as of yet.
