It is absolutely insane that the left is actually proposing defunding the police. At first, it was just in Minneapolis, but now they’re calling on the United Nations to try and make it go across the country.
These idiot Democrats think that the United Nations has any say over America, that is ridiculous.
The fact of the matter is that all of the countries in the United Nations have a police force. They know better than the liberals in this regard that in America it is essential to have a police force.
But what would happen if they actually went through with dismantling the police force? Things are already bad enough in the Democratically controlled cities that have police now. Take away the one thing committed to upholding law and order and people will think they can get away with anything they want.
Their reason for even considering this is because a man was killed. However, they are ignoring the fact that Chicago, which is massively liberal and Democratically controlled just had the highest murder count in one single day in sixty years.
Twenty-four people were killed due to gun violence and at least sixty-one others were injured. This is on top of widespread protest, riots, and looting throughout the city following the death of George Floyd.
As the city reeled from violent protest Saturday night more than half of the victims were shot on Sunday which led to hundreds of arrests and the implementation of a curfew.
According to Chicago Police Supt. David Brown, out of all the fatal shootings over the weekend, 17 homicides occurred on Sunday alone. Fifteen of those were confirmed at the Cook County medical examiner’s office, with another three at unknown locations.
Before this, the worst day the city had seen was in 2019 when 8 people were killed and 52 wounded due to citywide gun violence.
