Lewandowski Says Trump’s Not “Humiliating” Sessions

Corey Lewandowski, former Trump political adviser and former campaign manager, went on the record saying that President Trump is not “humiliating” Jeff Sessions with his “attacks” on social media and out in public.

“When Donald Trump went down to Mobile, Ala., and put 45,000 people in a football stadium in August of 2015, I think Jeff saw the movement and decided to endorse then-candidate Trump,” said Lewandowski. “It was a smart decision for Jeff Sessions.”

“The president has been very clear about this,” said Lewandowski. “What he said was if he would have known that Jeff Sessions was going to recuse himself from the Russia investigation then he would have looked at having an attorney general who was not going to recuse himself . . .

“It’s clearly the president’s prerogative to decide on who serves as the attorney general of the United States, with advice and consent of the Senate.”

“Is he investigating some alleged tie between the Trump campaign and the Russian government?” said Lewandowski. “Because if that’s the case, no agency, whether it is the Republicans or Democrats in the House or the Senate have come up with any evidence whatsoever.”
