The reality is that Harris’ team sees Biden as a political lead weight—no surprise there. No one needs a reminder of her four years as Biden’s partner in one of the most disastrous administrations of recent times.
Let’s review the highlights: a shredded economy, inflation through the roof, a wide-open border allowing millions of illegal entries, and American families struggling just to put food on the table. But hey, Harris has been unwaveringly loyal to Biden’s policies. Just this month on The View, when asked if there’s anything she’d do differently from Biden, her answer was textbook: “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”
Now that things are neck-and-neck in the polls, Harris seems desperate to carve out some distance from Biden. She probably also doesn’t want to be tainted by his increasingly questionable cognitive abilities. Remember, Harris and her allies went to great lengths to convince us all that Biden was fit as a fiddle, dismissing any concerns about his mental state as right-wing hysteria.
Then came the debate with Trump in June, where Biden floundered on his own, unmasking both his cognitive issues and Harris’ attempts to spin them. When Biden finally exposed his limitations for all to see, he left Harris looking like the shameless protector of a narrative that wasn’t remotely true. If she couldn’t be straight with the American people about Biden, why should we believe she’ll be honest as president?
Harris can try to duck Biden now all she wants, but we’re not buying it. Americans aren’t nearly as clueless as she might hope, and we won’t be erasing the damage that she and Biden have done to this country anytime soon.
