Those who have spent time in close proximity to Donald Trump over the course of the last several years are exhausted. They’ve been half on the run from a mob of leftists who’ve sought to cancel and castrate them from the moment The Don headed departed DC for the sunny fairways of Mar-a-Lago.
There is a feeling among the left that Donald Trump and everything about him must be stopped. At all costs. As though a political ideology can be chopped up like a snake; headfirst and wriggling itself to death after.
But they’ve found that Trump is no easy catch, despite years of probes and plots. Now they’re going after his inner circle.
A local appeals court in Washington, D.C., suspended Rudy Giuliani’s authority to practice law in the city Wednesday.
A New York appellate court suspended Giuliani’s law license last month, saying he made “demonstrably false and misleading” statements about last year’s election while serving as former President Donald Trump’s attorney.
It was a domino effect.
The action from the D.C. appellate court is required under the city’s bar rules whenever a lawyer faces disciplinary action in another jurisdiction.
In a 33-page decision, the New York court panel wrote that “there is uncontroverted evidence that [Giuliani] communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’s failed effort at reelection in 2020.”
Giuliani is also facing a massive defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems, that is seeking damages of more than one billion dollars for statements made by Giuliani during the 2020 election and its immediate aftermath.
