For the last several weeks, Americans have been hearing murmurs of a very strange political situation that is supposedly playing out behind the scenes…and it just keeps getting stranger.
It all began when pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell suggested to a QAnon conference crowd that Donald Trump could be “simply reinstated” as the President, should enough proof of wrongdoing be found in regard to the 2020 election.
Then, rumors began to swirl that Donald Trump himself had been pontificating on that very subject, lending a bit more credence to the idea.
This week, the odd idea took another step forward as well, with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell suggesting that the “reinstatement” would be coming on or before August 13th.
Far-right Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene isn’t so sure, however.
“I want people to be careful in what they believe. It’s going to be very difficult to overturn the 2020 election and so I would hate for anyone to get their hopes up thinking that President Trump is going to back in the White House in August. Because that’s not true.”
Greene knew that she was disappointing some people but said she wanted to manage expectations.
“It’s just that I don’t want people to get excited and think that something is going to happen and then they get disappointed,” she added. “We need to stick with the truth. We have to stick with the process. And we have to reveal the election fraud.”
Greene has been fairly open to some other wild theories that have spring up around the 2020 election, and around Donald Trump in general, making this break with Lindell a fairly significant moment for the MAGA Movement.
