Bill Gates and wife Melinda are in the headlines this week but not because of the next new technological innovation. The reason for their popularity this time is not an attractive one.
The first suspicious piece of news that popped up was about a family who all drowned in their new pool in New Jersy. A grandfather, a mother, and then her daughter all lost their lives because they apparently didn’t know how to swim. The strange part is that the family had ties to the Gates foundation.
It doesn’t end there. Melinda Gates recently announced that she wants to deliver the new vaccine for coronavirus based on racial groups and wants to start with black people first.
Now, some of this may be controversial, but there are serious risks to vaccinations, especially those that have been fast-tracked and haven’t had time to go through years of testing and research.
Just last week Melinda sais during a virtual Forbes philanthropy summit that “black people” and “indigenous people” should be given the vaccine first, especially those in healthcare.
But why? If it really is safe shouldn’t it be available for everybody?
According to Melinda Gates, “One of the reasons we are so involved in this is that you don’t want the first vaccines to go to the highest-bidding countries. There are 60 million healthcare workers. They deserve to get the vaccine first, they’re the ones dealing with this on the front lines, trying to keep us all safe.”
Bill Gates went on to explain which of those in the healthcare industry should get the vaccine first, “Then you have to start to tier from there, based on the countries and the populations. Here in the United States, it’s going to be black people who really should get it first and many indigenous people, as well as people with underlying symptoms, and then elderly people.”
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has given financial support for finding a vaccine for COVID-19. So maybe they really are trying to help make the world a better place or this could just be the next step in researching the vaccine by using it on humans.
