Big Time Democrat Says McCabe Firing May Be “Justified”

News For You

In a rather surprising twist, considering how absolutely anti-Trump he has been, California Representative Adam Schiff seems to be actually backing Trump’s firing of Andrew McCabe, now former FBI deputy director.

While that’s great, he does still believe that the move could be “tainted” — I guess they just can’t ever let Trump have one, huh?

“I think the president’s badgering of the attorney general, his urging to be fired before his pension could divest and the fact that McCabe and every other of the James Comey associates … who corroborate James Comey on the issue of potential obstruction of justice, every one of them has been targeted by the administration, by the Republicans in Congress, and is this because they corroborate James Comey?” he asked.

It happened just two days before McCabe was set to retire and collect a sizable pension. Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the final move, and the inspector general plans to release a report about the what’s what later this coming week.

“After an extensive and fair investigation and according to Department of Justice procedure, the Department’s Office of Inspector General provided its report on allegations of misconduct by Andrew McCabe to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility,” the DOJ said in its statement. “The FBI expects every employee to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity and accountability.”

There are allegations that McCabe has leaked some aspects of the on-going investigation into Hillary Clinton, and he’s not been exactly cooperative when dealing with the investigators.

“I absolutely never misled the inspector general in any way,” McCabe said, attributing his firing to “a series of attacks designed to undermine my credibility and my reputation.”

There’s also a small movement by the Democrats to find some way to keep him in the system, as all he may need to do is work the time out somewhere in Government in order to still collect.

We’ll see.
