It might be more of a rose-colored glasses situation than it should be, as the president’s scheduled trip to El Paso, Texas, on Sunday to finally observe firsthand the illegal immigration catastrophe afflicting America’s border towns. Because it seems that, the local officials have made significant attempts to clear up some of the migrant camps that had been established in late December, as waves of undocumented immigrants anticipated the end of Title 42, according to the witnesses on the ground in El Paso who spoke with DailyMail.
One Sacred Heart Church volunteer told the outlet, “It’s a dog and pony show. They’ve cleaned it all up for him.”
One day prior, Biden stated that it was his “intention” to travel to the border when a reporter questioned him about it during a press gaggle about his forthcoming trip to Mexico for the “Three Amigos Summit.” At the time, he added, “We’re working out the details.”
Although officials told the media, Biden intended to “address border enforcement operations and meet with local officials” they were vague on the details, including where exactly Biden would be going during his visit.
Several law enforcement sources claimed that downtown El Paso was being cleaned up in ahead of Biden’s anticipated trip, with migrant encampments silently departing. The migrant camps that littered the streets of El Paso were sanitized “under cover of darkness,” making the convenient “it’s just a coincidence” report seem far less likely, as reported by The New York Post on Saturday.
The clean-up efforts, however, are coincidental as officials reportedly said. But it sure feels like an incredibly sneaky trick to make the situation look much more positive than what’s been reported in right-leaning media circles, though it can’t be confirmed that officials were given the order to spruce up the town ahead of the president’s visit.
As pointing out that officials seem bent on painting a vastly different picture of the crisis situation, the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) tweeted its frustrations with the president’s upcoming visit.
The NBPC wrote, “El Paso being cleaned up as if nothing unusual ever happened there. Just in time for Biden’s ‘visit to the border’. We suggest just landing in Des Moines, Iowa and telling him it’s El Paso. He’ll never know the difference.”

The odd timing of the president’s maiden trip to the southern border has reinforced rumors that Biden’s handlers knew exactly what they were doing before the television cameras rolled on Sunday.
The head of the NBPC, Brandon Judd, noted that it is not by chance that the president is visiting in January, which traditionally has seen the fewest confrontations between federal law enforcement and illegal immigrants. Daily encounters have decreased from 7500 to 3500 compared to a few weeks ago when the streets were teeming with illegal immigrants, as noted by The DailyMail.
Judd said, “Biden has all those figures. He knows all the trends. He knows when the best time to come to the border. And he knows that the beginning of January is absolutely the best time.”
Saying that the president wouldn’t know the difference between El Paso and any other American city, the NBPC on Sunday took another sharp jab at Biden and his administration.
The NBPC tweeted, “If AF1 lands for a ‘border visit’ and there is 2 feet of snow on the ground, it probably ain’t El Paso. Biden would have no idea and the MSM would cover for him.”

With Biden’s visit, many of the Border Patrol personnel who are stationed there and who patrol the area in and around it are far from impressed. A former chief of the Border Patrol under Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Rodney Scott acknowledged that the majority of his Border Patrol coworkers are not at all impressed, although he justified the president’s planned visit by saying that it was “better late than never,” as reported by Fox News.
Scott told Fox News Digital, “Based on the rest of the press conference, everybody that I’ve talked to thinks it’s just going to be for show, that nothing is going to change.”
Well, watching the legacy media report Biden’s trip as if the border “crisis” isn’t that bad will be fascinating—and possibly nauseating.
