Joe Biden’s lengthy diatribes about “unity” and “healing” were all just a part of the show, it seems. This whole spiel about being a “President for all Americans” was perhaps nothing more than a central theme of his 2020 campaign, and not an actual sentiment held by he and his team.
In fact, as our nation so enthusiastically tries to move forward, out of the political morasses that we’ve long been a part of, it appears as though the Biden administration is openly allowing our sores to fester.
The White House has formally rejected an attempt by former President Trump to assert executive privilege over a set of documents requested by a House panel investigating the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol.
White House counsel Dana Remus, in a letter to the National Archives dated Oct. 8 but released on Wednesday, said President Biden considered Trump’s request to assert executive privilege and determined it “is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified as to any of the documents provided to the White House on September 8, 2021.”
“Accordingly, President Biden does not uphold the former President’s assertion of privilege,” Remus wrote.
And while the liberal left has long attempted to suggest that Trump’s executive privilege claims are no longer valid due to his status as a private citizen, they’ve forgotten the post-presidential privilege given to Ronald Reagan regarding the White House Diaries.
There is little doubt that the MAGA universe will be positively roiled at the news.
