Reports Show The Border Crisis Is Worse Than Anyone Imagined

If you ask the White House, there’s really nothing to see when it comes to the humanitarian crisis occurring at the southern border. In fact, things are believed to be so mundane that VP Kamala Harris, who was assigned to oversee the disastrous turn of events, has decided that she’d rather spend her time working on “climate change”, calling it a “root cause” of illegal immigration.

But when you head down to the border itself, and you speak to folks who’ve been working in the immigration field, hands-on, for decades, the story that you get is something else entirely.

Now, new data shows us the reality of just how bad things have become.

Arrests by Border Patrol have soared to the highest levels since 1986, according to Customs and Border Patrol data.

U.S. authorities detained more than 1.7 million migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border during the 2021 fiscal year, which ended in September, according to CBP data obtained by the Washington Post.

Historical data shows that Border Patrol made 1.69 million arrests nationwide in 1986, the outlet reported. The data, however, doesn’t show how many of those arrests were made along the border.

Local leaders have been incensed by the developments.

“We’re seeing the highest number of cross border crossings and it’s all because of the catastrophic open border policies by the Biden administration,” Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” this week. He added that the Biden administration “completely abandoned” ranchers, residents in his state and “all the people who live on the border.”

Meanwhile, many within the Biden administration have simply ignored the burgeoning blunders on the border, calling into question the ability of the Commander and Chief and his staff to lead.
