It seems as though “Sleepy Joe” was just a façade President-elect Biden used so his enemies would put their guards down.
Now Biden has grown impatient with President Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the 2020 election, which was officially called in the former Vice President’s favor by the Associated Press.
Trump has been taking his time by launching a number of legal challenges to the electoral process in several key swing states. At this point, his fight has been unsuccessful but he refuses to give up.
Even the mainstream media has sided with Biden, all of them referring to him as the president-elect.
So far Biden has been relatively quiet about the whole situation but time is running out and he has reached his breaking point.
Joe Biden said Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the election was “an embarrassment”, vowing to move forward with the presidential transition despite resistance from the White House and Republican leaders.
Biden, answering questions for the first time since he was declared the winner of the 2020 election, intensified his criticism of the president, who continued to baselessly allege voter fraud, and said Trump’s denial would “not help his legacy”.
Though the situation at the White House has caused deepening alarm over whether the US would witness a smooth transfer of power that has been a hallmark of American democracy for generations, Biden promised his team was “going to get right to work” confronting the compounding crises facing the nation.
President Trump’s refusal to give up the ghost has been a bit unprecedented and if tensions weren’t already high enough this has definitely turned up the figurative heat on Capitol Hill.
