A new national poll shows that President Joe Biden’s approval rating is much lower than what he hoped it would be, less than 50%. However, despite this low rating, the poll shows that more than not think Biden is doing a good job.
According to the poll, 49% of Americans approve of Biden and his work as president so far, with only 36% saying they disapprove and 16% say they remain undecided.
Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said of the ratings, “The Biden numbers are solid but not spectacular as the country tries to coalesce around a new administration that faces the dual challenge of daunting economic struggles and comforting a COVID-weary public.”
Among men, Biden’s approval rating sits at 38%/45% making him more popular with women voters at 58%/27%.
This survey, conducted by Quinnipiac University, used live telephone operators questioning 1,075 adults nationwide. The overall sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
