In an appaling move at the most recent debate, Joe Biden announced who he would pick for his running mate is he were to get the nomination.
It might have been a bold move, but let’s be honest, it was really just a pathetic attempt at drawing in a certain group of people. Bernie Sanders, not wanting to get left behind, decided to get in on this action.
According to CNN,
“If I’m elected president, my Cabinet, my administration will look like the country, and I commit that I will, in fact, appoint a, pick a woman to be vice president,” Biden said at the CNN-Univision debate in Washington, DC.
Biden continued, “There are a number of women who are qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my vice president.”
The comments come as Biden is seeing a surge in the presidential race over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and seeks to broaden his appeal and unify the Democratic Party.
Sanders said that “in all likelihood” he would pick a woman to be his vice president when pressed at the debate by CNN’s Dana Bash.
“For me, it’s not just nominating a woman,” Sanders said. “It is making sure that we have a progressive woman, and there are progressive women out there, so my very strong tendency is to move in that direction.”
So who is Biden’s choice for the first woman vice president? It’s none other than Michelle Obama.
However, rumours say that the former first lady isn’t interested in running for Vice President alongside Biden. Let’s hope those rumours stand true.
Unless, of course, she wants to become president herself. Nobody can see Biden making it through all four years of presidency given his mental and physical health. I truly believe he would be removed from office early in which case Michelle Obama would become president.
