Do you hold your breath when the officiant says “speak now or forever hold your peace” during a wedding ceremony? Well, it turns out you have a right to be nervous. Apparently, more weddings are interrupted than most people realize…
This is that epic moment when a brave bride decided to expose the groom in the most savage way possible. And the internet loved her.
Casey thought that her fiancé-to-be, Alex, was the one, but as she wrote in her tell-all post on Whimn, the night before her wedding she received a text that changed everything. Surrounded by her bridal party, she was bombarded with a series of screenshots from an unknown number accompanied by a simple message that read, “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”
The screenshots were a variety of lewd conversations between Alex and another woman, including selfies of the pair. The affair evidence ranged from months to only days before their planned union.
But her family and friends had already traveled to be at the wedding the next day and Casey couldn’t bring herself to cancel it. Of course, she eventually realized that she also couldn’t marry Alex, so she concocted a plan.
“I didn’t sleep a wink and when dawn finally broke I awoke the girls and told them my decision – I was going to go ahead with the wedding as expected, and ‘out’ him in front of our friends and family.”
As Casey walked down the aisle, she didn’t have a smile on her face. She dreaded what she had to do next. When she got to the altar, she made the announcement:
“There will be no wedding today. It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”
From AWM:
In addition to the damning text messages, the mystery person shared selfies of Alex with his other woman. He also wrote messages that revealed how he was not a faithful man.
“This weekend. You and I. It is on hot stuff. Bring your A-game,” one of Alex’s text messages stated.
“Your body is f***ing incredible. And s**t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do,” read another.
“I miss you so much. I can’t stop thinking about L, S, F’ing you. I’ve never had this kind of connection before.”
Clearly, the groom was interested in this mystery woman and had been sleeping with her for some time.
“Every word was like a dagger in my heart, and my wedding was only hours away,” Casey shared. “How could I cancel when everyone had already traveled to be there, and everything was paid for?”
Casey then dropped her flowers, revealing the phone in her hand, and proceeded to read out every depraved and deviant little thing that Alex had said to his girl on the side.
“I read every single message she sent me,” she said. “With each word, more color left Alex’s face.”
Alex, for his part, didn’t really say anything. He just up and left the ceremony with his best man in tow, while Casey explained to her wedding guests that “There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love, and following your heart even when it hurts.”
Then, apparently, everyone kind of just partied.
