One of the most unsettling things in life you would find out that a stranger has been living in your house for days.
Just like what happened to this man back in 2009 in his tiny Manhattan apartment. In fact, he had even shared a video, taken with his home security camera, to prove his claims.
Joe Cummings, from Manhattan, New York, claimed when the video was first shared, that someone had been peeing in his kitchen sink and stealing his food.
So he set up a camera to get to the bottom of it and discovered that a stranger had been lurking in his cupboard all along.
Twelve years on from the shocking discovery, the video is once again doing the rounds, with millions watching in horror.
In the grainy night-vision footage, a figure is seen dropping out of a high cupboard, carefully stepping down onto a table and down onto the floor.
The woman then heads straight over to the sink, where she takes a leak before opening the fridge to grab some drinks and snacks.
“Yes, I found out the hard way that I had an uninvited guest living in my apartment, sharing my food and drinks and pissing in my sink,” Cummings wrote in the description of his video. “Talk about a creepy situation. Only in the big apple. So I have been inundated with questions since this was posted and I thought it wise to give answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.”
The perpetrator even decides to watch TV and grab more grub before returning to her hiding spot.
According to reports, Cummings reported the incident to the police after watching the video and the woman was arrested. It was said at the time the woman had been living in the house for two weeks.
“I have no idea how she got in there. The only way in is through the window as I am on the top floor and there is a fire escape. The police think she was probably coming in to rob me when I was gone and decided to stay in the crawl space,” Cummings wrote on YouTube.
The perpetrator had allegedly been living in his apartment for at least a couple of weeks.
Cummings then decided to post the incident on YouTube. He assured doubters that the incident was a real situation, and wrote: “This is every bit as real and messed up as it seems.”
