These Cuomo brothers get more chances than cats have lives. Sure they have both been taken out of the public eye, but they are still finding a way to evade any punishments for their criminal behavior. Both Cuomo’s have allegations of sexual assault, and Andrew Cuomo pretty much murdered a whole bunch of elderly in nursing homes at the start of the pandemic. But I guess the former governor has lined some pockets and prosecutors are letting those deaths slide.
“Prosecutors in Manhattan have concluded former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo did not break the law when his administration misled the public about the number of Covid-19 deaths tied to nursing homes, the Democrat’s former attorney said on Monday.
Elkan Abramowitz, who served as outside counsel to Cuomo’s office, said in a statement that the former governor was told Monday by the head of the Manhattan district attorney’s Elder Abuse Unit that the office had completed a “thorough investigation“ and would not bring charges.
“As we have said all along — there was no evidence to suggest that any laws were broken,” Abramowitz said in the statement.
Basically, the two biggest crimes Cuomo has been accused of committing, don’t matter to the DA.
Cuomo’s spokesman forwarded a statement from Elkan Abramowitz, an attorney who had repped the governor’s office under Cuomo.
“I was contacted today by the head of the Elder Care Unit from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office who informed me they have closed its investigation involving the Executive Chamber and nursing homes,” Abramowitz said.
“I was told that after a thorough investigation — as we have said all along — there was no evidence to suggest that any laws were broken.”
The Post reported last August that the state Health Department had retained an outside law firm to deal with inquiries regarding nursing home decisions from the Manhattan DA’s Office as well as state Attorney General Letitia James and the US Attorney for the Eastern District.”
This is ridiculous. Andrew Cuomo knowingly put covid positive patients in with one of the most vulnerable demographics and many of them died. He may not have pulled any trigger or physically killed these people, but his orders caused these deaths, and he should be held accountable.
