Five people have been shot and killed by a “disgruntled” former employee at an Orlando business, then the perpetrator turned the gun on himself.
Law enforcement responded to an “active shooter” call at Fiamma off Forsyth Road in Orange county just after 8am. Jerry Demings, Orange county Sheriff, stated this morning. Deputies arrived two minutes after receiving the call and there they found three men and 1 woman dead at the scene. A 5th person was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead.
Seven people survived the shooting.
Sheriff Demings stated that the alleged shooter was identified as a 45-year-old man who had been fired from Fiamma Inc, an awning manufacturing company in April. The employee had a “minor” criminal history with arrests ranging from possession of marijuana to DUI. Back in June 2014 police were called out for a “workplace violence incident” in which the gunman allegedly battled another employee during business hours”.
