For once, Biden is inspiring more than just terrorists. After his on-going failures in Afghanistan, ‘Five For Fighting’ singer said he was compelled two write a song titled ‘Blood On My Hands’. The song explains his disgust and outrage at the poorly planned withdrawal that has led to the loss of American lives.
Singer John Ondrasik explained in a statement on the band’s website that he was horrified and stunned, like most of us:
“Like all Americans, I was stunned and horrified at the images of falling bodies from planes, mothers handing babies over walls, and terrified Afghans being crushed to death at checkpoints due to our precipitous withdrawal from Afghanistan. I am deeply troubled by the plight of Afghan women forced to live under the return of Taliban rule and felt great sadness when reading a story about a popular folk singer, Fawad Andarabi, being dragged from his home and shot by the Taliban.”
Ondrasik went on to explain that he agrees with the withdrawal but the horrific planning is what has him outraged. Specifically, Biden’s cowardly acceptance of the Taliban’s deadline to be out by August 31st:
“Though I believe the decision to withdraw or not from Afghanistan has good arguments on both sides, I cannot comprehend why the Biden administration would not extend the August 31 deadline thus leaving American citizens, SIV holders, and Afghan allies behind to a terrorist Taliban regime. As a life-long supporter of our military I believe βno man left behindβ applied to all Americans as well as those we promise to protect.”
“On the day 13 of our soldiers and over 60 Afghans were killed by a suicide bomber I sat down to write this song,” Ondrasik explained. “After our last soldier left Afghanistan, I received a call from a friend organizing rescue evacs of βAM-CITSβ and SIV holders. It was a highly emotional call and moment of clarity,” he explained in his statment.
Ondrasik also wrote about how private citizens were left fighting to get the abandoned and trapped Americans out. He adds that the ‘shouldn’t be burdened with the responsibility of rescue.
Ondrasik scolded Biden and his administration for not shouldering any responsibility for the failed exit and renewed enfoldment of terrorists who now believe that they ‘defeated America’.

The singer wanted to be clear that the song is not politically motivated adding that he would have written the same about any president who failed his country this badly. Even President Trump, Ondrasik noted.
