There are four Democrats who do not have any luck on their side. They abandoned the month-long photo op and returned to Texas.
Yesterday they could not be arrested and the judge was delaying the process for two weeks. And now, suddenly, they can be arrested. How will that work?
Well, instead of taking them to the police station, state police will take them into custody and take them to the House chamber, and held them there until they have enough for a quorum.
Those four have other troubles. The entire Democratic delegation is calling them traitors for leaving. After all, the show must go on.
Those four had better watch their step. You know how vicious liberals can be. Maybe they wanted to get away from the super spreader plane trips.
Six of the fifty Democrats on the two planes contracted COVID-19 after the sixth case they announced that they would be releasing information on any other members who might be affected.
Renae Eze, an Abbott spokeswoman said:
“The Supreme Court of Texas swiftly rejected this dangerous attempt by Texas Democrats to undermine our Constitution and avoid doing the job they were elected to do. We look forward to the Supreme Court upholding the rule of law and stopping another stall tactic by the Texas Democrats.”
House Democrats who refuse to show up for the Legislature could soon be detained by law enforcement and brought back to the state Capitol, after the Texas Supreme Court on Tuesday voided a state district judge’s temporary restraining order barring their arrest.
The all-Republican high court’s order came at the request of Gov. Greg Abbott and House Speaker Dade Phelan, also both Republicans, who petitioned the court on Monday to overturn a recent ruling by a Travis County district judge that blocked them from ordering the arrest of quorum-busting Democrats, who were in Washington, D.C., for about a month. The House Democrats in the suit have until Thursday at 4 p.m. to respond to the court. Democrats who are arrested would not face criminal charges and could not be jailed or fined. Law enforcement officers carrying out arrest orders by state officials could only try to bring them to the House chambers.
This move in TX to arrest Democratic lawmakers is too much. I’d like to know where in their constitution does it stipulate arrest for those who don’t show up for work? Nobody has produced such phrasing, so this is simply a dictatorial power grab by Gov. Abbott (it pains me to type ‘Gov.’ in front of the name of this sociopath). Time to inundate TX courts with civil rights lawsuits to insure personal freedom and liberty under the federal Constitution.
Employees usually don’t take an oath on The Bible to execute the obligations of their jobs. Our so-called leaders do!

I would hope they would be stripped of their positions (also pensions) and given a nice long vacation in Gitmo.

In theory, elected officials are supposed to be held to a higher standard. Since they can not be fired for deriliction of duty, arrest and detainment at the House Chamber to perform their duties is the prescribed recourse. And you would just have them not do their jobs and collect their checks, benefits, and pensions?
They werent hired you asshole, they were elected!
