Although most hosts on The View are known for having strong opinions, Whoopi Goldberg has caused a lot of controversies this year and is once again at risk of facing the chopping block.

Now, sources are alleging that ABC executives are begging Goldberg to quit her role as the moderator on “The View,” which she’s been on for 15 years! Making Goldberg’s friends reportedly concerned, as Goldberg had found herself AGAIN in hot water for making more “offensive” comments about the Holocaust and suggesting that it was not originally about race.

The ABC executives have now “grown tired of Whoopi’s constant on-air episodes and believe they are driving viewers away.” An insider told RadarOnline, and that even before these incidents; Goldberg had received advice from friends to resign from her long-standing position as co-host of the daytime talk show.

A source said, “She’s not in a good place at all, and her friends are begging her to walk away to save herself,” according to reports, Goldberg’s friends are concerned for her well-being.

Another insider said, “Whoopi seems to be picking fights all the time. She makes things very toxic, it’s clear she’s very unhappy. Everyone’s begging her to step aside for her sake and the sake of the show,” describing the work environment at The View.

“Her health has been suffering, and she always seems to be ready for a brawl. It’s at the point where the constant fighting is literally killing her,” the source alleged, claiming that Goldberg has been struggling.

Sources further claimed Goldberg’s conflicts with her co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Ana Navarro have made them “eager to show her the door,” alleging that even though Goldberg has dominated The View’s table since 2007, producers, colleagues, and even close friends want her to step down. And “backstabbing Joy has been actively campaigning for Whoopi to get the boot,” as the insiders claimed.

Fans also urged ABC to permanently fire Goldberg and bring in Rosie O’Donnell in her stead.

A thread that has since gone viral on the social media site Reddit read, “If Whoopi is fired, should they bring back Rosie?”

“Whoopi who I love, once again said something really dumb and ABC has to be angry. If she’s fired, should they get Rosie O’Donnell back as mod? She was good TV, IMO.”

Numerous followers quickly concurred, with one saying, “I would love for Rosie to come back, if only to see how she would handle the Sunny issue. I also think it would be interesting to see how she interacts with Farrah. Her and Elizabeth were on opposite sides politically, but did get along quite well for a while.”

“I would love Rosie to come back!!” another social media user wrote. “Bring Rosie back!!! Love her. Even as a special correspondent!” the third commenter added.

When Meredith Viera left The View in 2006, Rosie O’Donnell took her place as the program’s moderator. O’Donnell, though, also got into altercations on air. The Sun said that O’Donnell quit owing to disputes with Goldberg that occurred behind the scenes. When O’Donnell returned to the program in 2014, she apparently believed she would serve as the moderator. However, leading to tension between the two women, O’Donnell was dismayed to find that Goldberg would be holding the position.

Even though she eventually changed her mind and apologized, Goldberg doubled down in an interview with The Times of London, prompting calls for ABC to terminate her for anti-semitism. This statement caused Goldberg to be suspended from The View for two weeks in 2022.

Following her suspension, Goldberg has subsequently apologized once more, telling The Hollywood Writer that her new remarks were an attempt to “communicate to the reporter what I had said and why, and sought to recount that period.” She is alluding to the original comments that led to her suspension.

The talk shows The View has a history of stirring up controversy. However, it is natural that many people are dissatisfied and looking for a change when the main moderator is at the center of the dispute and not the subjects covered.
