A 25-year-old man from Brunswick, Georgia was shot and killed in February while jogging down a road in his own neighborhood.

The victim, Ahmaud Arbery was an unarmed black man minding his own business when father and son Greg and Travis McMichael, both armed with guns hunted him down with their pickup truck and shot him down in the middle of the street. To this day, those men are still walking free.

A video of the tragic killing has been released on social media and is sparking national outrage.

According to the McMichaels, Ahmaud matched a description of a potential suspect that had been involved in neighborhood break-ins.

The family claims that Ahmaud was just out for a jog, which he was known for doing often.

Local protests are being held in the community in hopes that justice will be had for Ahmaud. The family has hired Lee Merrit, who is regarded by many as one of the country’s preeminent civil rights lawyers.

Merritt demands that the McMichaels be taken into custody, however, the D.A. wants a grand jury to decide whether or not they should be arrested and charged. Marritt says that the men are using a GA statue about citizen’s arrest to hide behind.

Merritt says this could definitely be the workings of a corrupt case because Greg, the father, worked in the D.A.s office for more than 20 years with 7 years prior to that as a Glynn County police officer. He says the video taken by a bystander will be all the evidence needed for the D.A. to issue an arrest warrant immediately.
