Many people have wondered how Alec Baldwin got his hands on a loaded gun and now we have the answer to that. Cast members allegedly used the gun to take target practice with live ammunition. That means there is a lot of blame to go around. The crew should not have used the gun for target practicing, but if they did, it was up to them to make sure all live ammunition was out of the gun.
The firearms expert for the movie should have checked the gun before it was given to Baldwin and finally, Baldwin violated the first rule of gun handling and that is to never aim it at anything you don’t want to destroy.
Anybody who has ever handled a gun knows that.
Or at least they should know that. You handle every gun as if it were loaded even when you don’t think it is.
Hollywood firearms expert Bryan Carpenter, who specializes in gun safety and training for the movies says that Baldwin violated the first rule anyone who receives training learns and that is you never point a gun at anyone you do not intend to kill.
That is just common sense, which explains why Baldwin did not know that.
Not only did Baldwin break rule number one, but the crew is said to have used the gun for target practice. This is a low-budget movie and without a doubt, the movie may never get made now because there is enough negligence for a dozen lawsuits.
Gun handlers for the movies are paid $300 dollars a day and therefore, they have no excuse for not checking a gun before it is used in a scene.

So as to be correct they purchase real guns to be used in making a movie and because of the many accidental shooting on movie sets the gun is sent to my friend. IFthe gun handler had been using the gun for unauthorized useage and then handed it to Baldwin, wasn’t it the gun handlers job to know prior to handing a known loaded gun to some guy that chances are rarely has the oportunity to do so.
Another point in gun handling is to be sure to unload prior to leaving a range. This action shows negligence on the part of the gun handler and not Baldwin.

It is not “the ideal”, it is universal common sense. I was taught as a child (and I am now 76 years old) that you never point a gun, even a toy gun, at a person. (I didn’t always obey that rule with my toy guns when we were playing “cops and robbers”.) Any gun, whether a prop, a toy, or a real gun, should be checked by the person handling it before it is used. I think there should be an NRA gun safety instructor on every movie set. The NRA has been teaching gun safety for 150 years.

So, if that particular scene was without any weapons, what was Mr. Baldwin doing with a weapon, weapon in hand, firing a weapon in a scene not calling for a weapon. They could have been seeting up another shot white on set. They do multiple takes and sometimes with different items to get the right mix of movie magic. So while the main scene my not have been calling for a weapon, the next could have or they wanted to redo a previous shot for some reason. At this time we would need to know why they were taking the shot they did when the accident happened. There is so much we do not know but there is not shortage of speculation as to what happened. Baldwin is responsible the firing the weapon that took the life of another person. He is not 100% responsible but a good 90%. He held the weapon and pulled the trigger. And the only way it could have gone off by itself is if he (Baldwin) was seriously mishandling the gun. He could have been trying to show off when the gun went off. I doubt we will ever know the full truth to what happened. Baldwin will do and say whatever he can to keep from going to jail, and that includes lying through his teeth.

There was a second shot? First I heard of this. For this original or clone Colt SAA IF there was a second shot fired then it definitely PROVES that Baldwin purposely either did cock back the hammer and pulled the trigger, OR “fanned” the hammer to fire a second shot.
