Legal Experts Break Down Possible Charges Comey Could Face
The Former FBI Director, James Comey, is in hot water and his own book could wind up evidence in his trial. A group of legal experts goes through a blow-by-blow account of Comey’s wrongdoings and the potential charges he could face. Take a look.
Even President Trump has questioned the legality of Comey’s actions:
I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible. Totally illegal? Very 'cowardly!'

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders joined President Trump on Sunday morning in ripping former FBI Director James Comey.
“James Comey is a self-admitted leaker,” Sanders said in an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.” “The guy knew exactly what he was doing. He thought Hillary Clinton would win. And he thought this would give him some cover,” she said.
Comey closed an investigation into Clinton’s secret email server and her deletion of more than 30,000 emails from her time as Secretary of State, as well as charges that she improperly handled classified information. But he reopened the probe when classified documents were found on the laptop of Anthony Weiner, the husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Then, he cleared Clinton again just weeks before the 2016 election.
In his new memoir, Comey writes, “I had assumed from media polling that Hillary Clinton was going to win. I have asked myself many times since if I was influenced by that assumption. I don’t know. Certainly not consciously, but I would be a fool to say it couldn’t have had an impact on me.”
In Comey’s own book he admitted that his decision when handling the Hillary Clinton case could have been biased based on his belief she would win the 2016 elections.
Between medaling in the elections, leaking confidential White House information, and ignoring the overwhelming evidence against Clinton, should Comey be brought up on charges? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
