After the 2020 election, there was plenty of talk among Americans regarding election security, integrity, and foolhardiness.

That’s because, when it was all said and done, America found herself with an incumbent President who was unwilling to admit that he lost, and a large base of supporters who were willing to storm the Capitol in order to “stop the steal” that Trump had so long spoken about.

Now, around the country, legislators of all shapes and sizes are working on policy updates and new laws aimed at adjusting the electoral process. In Georgia, these changes have been controversial, and President Joe Biden isn’t pulling any punches in addressing it.

President Joe Biden criticized Georgia’s new election integrity law as “un-American” in a statement released Friday.

Biden described the new law as “outrageous,” a “blatant attack on the Constitution,” and claimed it was racially motivated.

“This is Jim Crow in the 21st Century,” he wrote. “It must end. We have a moral and Constitutional obligation to act.”

Biden’s statement celebrated that more Americans voted in 2020 than at any point in history.

“Yet instead of celebrating the rights of all Georgians to vote or winning campaigns on the merits of their ideas, Republicans in the state instead rushed through an un-American law to deny people the right to vote,” he said.

Georgia voters flipped the state to blue in 2020, which is the first time that this has occurred in the Peach State since the early 1990s.
