The 2020 presidential election is set up to be a spectacle the likes of which we have never before seen. This historical political event is coming up to a head and is sure to have a contentious finale.

The latest article of debate between the two sides involves the United States Postal Service, due to the very real fact that the coronavirus may force many American citizens to vote by mail.

President Trump’s recent actions on this dilemma have caught the attention of Democrats who claim this is the president’s attempt at delaying the election thus extending his presidency.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been sent into a panic and brought Congress back early from recess.

Pelosi is cutting short lawmakers’ summer recess with a vote expected Saturday on legislation that would prohibit changes at the agency as tensions mount. President Donald Trump’s new postmaster general, Louis DeJoy, has sparked nationwide outcry over delays, new prices and cutbacks just as millions of Americans will be trying to vote by mail to avoid polling places during the coronavirus outbreak.

“In a time of a pandemic, the Postal Service is Election Central,” Pelosi wrote Sunday in a letter to colleagues, who had been expected to be out of session until September. “Lives, livelihoods and the life of our American Democracy are under threat from the president.”

It seems strange that Pelosi found this situation dire enough to bring Congress in to vote right away but they will not be getting back to work on creating a comprehensive coronavirus stimulus package for struggling Americans which has already been stalled several months because of petty bickering.
