President Joe Biden’s theme for the beginning of his first term might be “healing” and “unity”, but the rest of the Democratic side of pop culture getting the message.
In fact, many on the left have been aggressively exploiting Biden’s win by taking it upon themselves to gloat in the general direction of Donald Trump and his followers.
One man in particular who has been belligerently exhilarated about Trump’s loss is Hollywood actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner. This week, Reiner even went so far as to call for Donald Trump’s conviction by the Senate on account of his “Civil War”-like aspirations.
Actor and director Rob Reiner took to Twitter Wednesday demanding that the Senate convict former President Donald Trump, who he referred to as “the new leader of the Confederacy” during “our continuing Civil War.”
“Our original sin is at the the root of our continuing Civil War. Donald Trump, the new leader of the Confederacy, heads the Sedition,” Reiner wrote. “If he is not held accountable with a Senate conviction, there will be no Appomattox,” the site of Robert E. Lee’s surrender to Ulysses S. Grant in 1865.
Reiner must have grown tired of the cliché Hitler comparisons that were being thrown around by the left, and decided to select some other historic villain to cast him as.
