If you live in California you might want to consider finding somewhere else to live because things there are about to get really bad.

Governor of the Golden State, Gavin Newsom, has made the decision to release thousands of inmates from prison all for the sake of “slowing the spread of COVID-19.”

Why do the lives of these guilty criminals matter more than the safety of innocent citizens?

In a news release from Ralph Diaz, secretary of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, he said, “These actions are taken to provide for the health and safety of the incarcerated population and staff. We aim to implement these decompression measures in a way that aligns both public health and public safety.”

According to the CDCR, by the end of August, an estimated 8,000 inmates could be eligible for release. That’s in addition to the state’s reduction of about 10,000 inmates since its “pandemic emergency decompression efforts” to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission within its facilities, all in the short time since Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency back in March.

The CDCR claims that of the state’s approximate 115,000 inmates it has been estimated that 2,400 prisoners have tested positive for the coronavirus with at least 31 COVID-19 related deaths. This accounts for about 2% of the inmate population.

So far, this plan has played out exactly how you might releasing violent criminals back into the public would play out. It has resulted in more crimes, more death, and has not slowed the spread of the coronavirus at all.

It’s a shame that Governor Newsom cares more about violent criminals, murders, pedophiles, and rapists than the lives of those who have followed the rules. If things weren’t already bad enough out there, it’s about to get so much worse.
