Sen Kyrsten Sinema is a force of nature and truly one of a kind. I admit when she was elected I figured she would be terrible. But as it turns out she is an enigma.
She is a Democratic Senator that actually represents the people who elected her rather than her party. I am impressed and I don’t impress easily.
The other Democrats are not happy with her. She and Manchin are preventing them from killing the filibuster and packing the courts.
Now, she is going after Biden for his border crises. She is not being shy about it either.
Kyrsten said:
“So the reality is, is that this is a crisis. We all know it. And the federal government must do more to address this surge of migrants who are coming to the border with increasing numbers each year. And I’m like, you probably know this, but we’re looking at numbers this year that are the highest numbers of crossings that we’ve seen in 20 years in Arizona.”
“So we really are seeing how this problem has been exacerbated and gotten worse,” Sinema added. Sinema said that she was waiting for the administration to “take bold action” to fix the crisis, saying that communities in her state cannot afford to sit around and wait for officials to sit around and talk about how to fix the situation.
Sinema said that migrants are getting dumped into communities in her state and those communities have nowhere to put them. “And literally the mayor is putting these folks in his vehicle and driving them to Tucson or Phoenix to get them to shelters,” Sinema said. “That’s not acceptable.”
Sinema’s remarks come as Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) slammed the Biden administration this week after the administration released photos this week that sought to portray the conditions on the ground as improving.
Border democrats are very vulnerable to the immigration issue.
The border states are being overrun by illegal aliens and more and more Democrats in those areas are going to have to buck the open border policy of their party.
Seems that “the emperor has no clothes” approach which most democrats have taken with the feeble-minded Biden isn’t working at all for Senator Sinema.

I have to agree with this author. Sinema’s track record in the AZ legislature did not incline me to expect this, but since she got to DC, it’s like she had an epiphany or something. It’s not an about-face, but she has voted against her party on Constitutional issues several times, in ways that protect her constituents. That’s something I certainly never expected to see her do. And she’s right about this too. I no longer live in AZ, but did for 40 yrs, so still take an interest. GO, Krysten! Keep up the good work.

No, she needs to stay right where she is and help tip that scale to sanity in that party. If she leaves it then they get another just like themselves and the opportunity is lost.
This sort of development is very important. We MUST split the Democratic Party and win over a substantial number of ‘old-fashioned Democrats’ — ie people who are ‘liberal’ on economic issues, but ‘conservative’ on cultural issues, and who are patriots. There are several ways that this can take place, and there are first steps that may not be all that we want, but which lead in the right direction. As the DSA grows within the Democratic Party, there will be more and more people in that Party who will be unhappy about their increasing influence. We want to reach out to them however we can.
One way to do this is to propose joint actions with them: for example, propose joint Fourth of July meetings (and other patriotic holidays); invite them to speak at meetings opposing illegal immigration, or teaching Critical Race Theory in the schools, or Political Correctness purges in the Military, or defunding the Police. Don’t withhold criticism of them, but make it friendly criticism. There are fracture lines in the Democratic Party and we must help open them up!

I am a conservative but I have liked Sinema and actually voted for her over McSalley and I would do it again. Sorry, Az R-party but we need to do a lot better than the McSalleys, Flakes, and McCains.
