A judge in Virginia has ruled that the statues of General Robert E. Lee and General Stonewall Jackson are now protected monuments and will remain standing. They will not be torn down by the city.
This comes as a huge win for those of us who like to preserve American history and learn from it. Not just erase it because its deemed “offensive” and hurts your feelings.
Liberals will act as if they know everything about the Civil War and that everyone from the Confederacy was evil when in reality they can’t even tell you when the Civil war took place!
According to the New York Post,
The decision comes nearly two years after three people were killed at the “Unite the Right” white nationalist rally after the city of Charlottesville voted to remove the statue of Lee.
“While some people obviously see Lee and Jackson as symbols of white supremacy, others see them as brilliant military tacticians or complex leaders in a difficult time,” Moore claimed in his ruling, as reported by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
In the nine-page decision, Moore also ruled it was illegal for municipalities to remove the statues without permission from the state.
President Trump had this to say on the subject, “I was talking about people that went because they felt very strongly about the monument to Robert E. Lee, a great general. Whether you like it or not, he was one of the great generals. I have spoken to many generals here, right at the White House, and many people thought — of the generals, they think that he was maybe their favorite general.”
And the truth is, Trump is absolutely right. Robert E. Lee was a military genius and perhaps one of the greatest generals in U.S. history.
